Festival Schedule

In addition to full 2-set performances from the 3 headliners, the weekend also includes morning yoga, a Friday evening Mountain Sun happy hour, funky Friday costumes, a Saturday late-night funk set in the Wildflower, and a Saturday morning brunch (for an additional cost). And Mountain Sun and Avery Brewing will be pouring 9 different beers, including a special collaboration brew!

Spend the weekend in Lyons within walking distance of your campsite. All campgrounds are open from 9am on Friday thru noon on Sunday. All the Planet Bluegrass campgrounds are general admission; camping passes are sold per-person, not per-site.

(If you do not need your vehicle near your campsite, general festival parking is available at the Panet Bluegrass Farm - $5 payable at the gate.)
  • RV Passes (Sold-out): A very limited number of RV passes with full hook-ups may be available.

  • Location: On the Planet Bluegrass Ranch -- fields on both the north (tents only) and south sides (tents and vehicles) of the Festival grounds
  • Vehicles (Sold-out): If you need to camp next to your vehicle, a very limited number of vehicles passes may be available in the south part of the on-site campground. Vehicles must be less than 21' in length. If you do not need your vehicle at your campsite, convenient parking is available nearby at the Planet Bluegrass Farm ($5 at the gate).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy a single-day ticket?
Yes! Since September can be a busy time for some people, we have released a very limited number of single-day tickets so everyone can join the Mountain Sun 25th celebration.
Where do I park?
If you need to sleep in your vehicle, a limited number of vehicle passes are available for each campground. If you don't need to sleep in your vehicle, parking is available at the Planet Bluegrass Farm ($5 for the weekend, payable at the gate) which is an easy 5-minute walk from the festival grounds.
Do you accept credit cards?
Many of the food vendors do accept credit cards, however parking and beer is cash-only. 2 ATMs are available inside the Festival grounds. (But you will need cash before you arrive to pay for parking.)
Where is the box office located?
The festival box office is located next to the festival entrance on the Planet Bluegrass Ranch. You can't miss it! At the box office you will exchange your ticket for a festival wristband. Please print your ticket! The box office is open from 9am-9pm on Friday and Saturday.
What can I bring into the festival grounds?
You may bring in anything other than: No glass; No outside alcohol. You're welcome to bring in food, non-alcohol drinks, coolers, hula hoops, tarps, chairs, reusable water bottles, etc.
Where do I purchase brunch tickets?
Saturday's Snooze Pancake Breakfast (all-you-can-eat and drink!) will be available for $25 on Saturday morning inside the festival grounds near the Wildflower Pavilion. You must have a 2-day pass or single-day ticket to attend the brunch. This very special brunch is a benefit for New Era Colorado Foundation.
What food is available inside the festival grounds?
Local food vendors inside the festival grounds include: Abo's pizza and burgers, Greek gyros and salads, McDevitt tacos, and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks (kombucha, nitro cold brew and frozen lemonade). As well, Mountain Sun margaritas, a variety of wines, and 9 different beers from Mountain Sun and Avery (including a special collaboration brew!).
Can I bring my dog or other animal?
NO DOGS or other animals are allowed on the Festival grounds, in the parking areas, or in any of the camping areas. Please be a humane and responsible pet owner and make arrangements to leave your dogs at home or in a kennel, thanks!
How are the campgrounds organized?
All Planet Bluegrass campgrounds are general admission with no designated campsites. Campers claim space for their group as they arrive. This is festival-style camping, so tents for communal cooking and social space are encouraged.

How many camping passes do I need?
Camping is sold per-person, not per-site. So you will need one camping pass for each person in your group who intends to camp. Kids 12 and under are free.
Can I reserve a campsite for my friends?
Camping space is general admission, first-come first-served. However once you arrive at the campground and claim your space, you may lay out a tarp near your camp to reserve space for other members of your group.
Can I have a stove or campfire?
Sorry no campfires or charcoal grills, as a fire ban is still be in effect for western Boulder County including Lyons. Propane grills are allowed in both campgrounds, provided they have a shutoff switch on the stove.
Do I need a campground vehicle pass?
You'll be allowed to drive your vehicle into the campground to unload your gear, then park in our convenient (and inexpensive) parking adjacent to the festival grounds. A vehicle pass is only needed if you intend to have your vehicle remain at your campsite. Most people don't need this.
Are showers available?
Yes! Free showers are available in the on-site bathhouse. Showers are also available at the Lavern Johnson (Meadow) Park campground (for a nominal fee -- bring coins!).
What is "New Era Colorado"?
Proceeds from the Colorado Kind Festival benefit New Era Colorado Foundation -- an innovative vehicle for hands-on democracy. New Era Colorado engages, educates, and trains a new generation of active citizens and young leaders in Colorado.

Lyons and Planet Bluegrass

Planet Bluegrass is located along the St. Vrain River in the Town of Lyons - about 20 minutes north of Boulder or less than an hour from Denver. Beyond the festival grounds, Lyons is an outdoor mecca offering a wealth of mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, fishing, and river activities.
