Greetings Festivarians!!

It's the email many have been waiting for... the announcement of the complete RockyGrass 2006 lineup!

Earl ScruggsThe biggest news is that the legendary Earl Scruggs will be making his first-ever appearance in Lyons on July 30. It is truly an honor to have Earl on this year's lineup, along with festival favorites Peter Rowan & Tony Rice, the Sam Bush Bluegrass Band, cellist Rushad Eggleston's amazing band Crooked Still, and many others we've already announced. See the complete lineup below or visit bluegrass.com.

My, my, this is a bit of a late notice... but holiday ticket prices for Folks Fest end today, Friday, February 24. This year's lineup already includes Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Kathleen Edwards, and Amos Lee, with many more still to be announced. Order your on-site camping or 3-day passes by the end of the day today and put your savings toward a week of songwriting craft and inspiration at the Song School. Or tickets to this year's Festival of the Mabon - holiday prices for Mabon continue for a couple more weeks.

We are sorry to announce that Emmylou Harris has been invited to tour Europe with Mark Knopfler and has had to cancel her Telluride appearance this year. Emmy sends her warmest wishes to all her festivarian friends - she'll miss you all in Telluride. In other lineup news, we just added the Drew Emmitt Band to Telluride. And we've got numerous exciting announcements still to come. Single-day tickets, 4-day festival passes, and camping for Telluride Bluegrass are now on-sale.

A couple weeks ago we sat down with mandolin virtuoso Mike Marshall to talk about Telluride '06. Part of our conversation is now available as the first Planet Bluegrass Podcast, including a solo mandolin performance of the Brazilian choro "Odeon." We'll be creating new podcasts every couple weeks as friends of the Planet stop by to chat about this summer's festivals and play a little music for us. All you need is a computer with an internet connection to listen to these free podcasts (iPod is strictly optional). More info and subscription instructions at:

And while you're there, check out our new video slideshows - click on the "Multimedia" button on the left side of each festival page.

Congratulations to recent Grammy winners, John Prine, the Del McCoury Band, and Tim O'Brien. Those of you in Colorado, can catch Tim at a live eTown taping at the Boulder Theater on Sunday, March 12. More info below...
