Kinfolk Celebration Returns to Lyons
Ten years since the inaugural Kinfolk Celebration danced and smiled its way across the Planet Bluegrass Ranch, Yonder Mountain String Band's annual celebration of community, camping, and musical mania is returning home to Lyons, CO.
For two glorious late-August days, we will bask in the waning summer sun, cool our feet in the St. Vrain River, and take one final summery gasp of mountain air alongside four thousand of our closest Kinfolk.
The hometown boys of Yonder Mountain will headline the main stage each evening with inspired, epic sets (featuring special guest Andy Hall) – their only Colorado shows of the summer (besides Telluride Bluegrass, of course). Each afternoon close musical kin of Yonder Mountain will create their own musical frenzy including Greensky Bluegrass, Todd Snider, Split Lip Rayfield, and Larry Keel & Natural Bridge. We will boogie, we will shine, we will share in something unforgettable.
The Kinfolk Experience
The Kinfolk Celebration is much more than a concert. Arrive in Lyons early on Friday to setup camp under the Cottonwoods of the Planet Bluegrass campground or beneath the dramatic redrock cliffs of nearby Meadow Park. Swap stories with your camp neighbors. Take a refreshing dip in the St. Vrain River.

Grab dinner inside the festival grounds from several local food vendors. Share New Belgium beers with kinfolk from across the country. Then lose yourself in the music from the hallowed Planet Bluegrass stage, projected through the pristine sound system reverberating off the cliffs of the St. Vrain River.
On Saturday morning, collect a few kinfolk for a hike or mountain bike in one of Lyons' acclaimed parks and open spaces. Then explore the small mountain town of Lyons (population 2,000) as America's most prestigious 7-day cycling race, the US Pro Cycling Challenge, passes right through downtown early Saturday afternoon.
