The journey toward our summer of Festivation begins next week -- as all our 2017 Festival tickets are going on sale!
More than ever, we're looking forward to sharing these special days together with Festivarian Nation in the spirit of community, love, and musical inspiration. Or to put it another way: Festivaaaaaaal!
In case you've already covered your December calendar in gleeful doodles of Sam Bush, here are the dates to scribble all over your mandolin case:
• Folks Festival & The Song School: Monday, December 5 at 9am MST
• RockyGrass: Tuesday, December 6 at 9am MST
• Telluride Bluegrass: Thursday, December 8 at 9am MST
On each of these mornings, tickets (including single-day tickets!) and camping will be available at shop.bluegrass.com and 800-624-2422 beginning at 9am MST. As always, Planet Bluegrass charges no handling fees on any tickets.
We'll also begin accepting entries in our band, instrument, and songwriting contests at Telluride Bluegrass, RockyGrass, and Folks Fest on their respective onsale days. Aspiring pickers take note: you have more than 230 days to woodshed your way to a new-instrument-winning version of Salt Creek. No excuses this year.
If you haven't visited Bluegrass.com in awhile, be sure to check out the important campground changes for Telluride Bluegrass (no High School campground) and the Folks Festival (no camping at River Bend for Folks Fest).
Though most RockyGrass Academy classes sold-out via the online lottery, we still have a few spots left in the Novice Fiddle class (whose instructors include Bruce Molsky & Kimber Ludiker!). Those spots will be available on Tuesday, December 6 with the rest of the RockyGrass tickets.
If your Festivarian philosophy includes "giving back" and "kindly helping your fellow Festivarians," we invite you to become a Festival volunteer. We are now accepting volunteer applications for the 2017 Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Applications for RockyGrass and Folks Fest open on January 24.
Finally, we're again offering a limited allotment of "early discount" passes for the Folks Festival beginning Monday, December 5. Be among the first Folks Festivarians and save $20 on each 3-day pass (or onsite camping). Maybe you'll put that savings toward finally experiencing The Song School... It's a life-changing 5 days. Registration opens December 5.
Watch for some initial Festival lineup announcements later in December. In the meantime, gather your Festivarian family and make your plans for another magical summer in Telluride and Lyons. We can't wait to share this 2017 journey with you!
