Those of you with an hour- or day-hand on your Telluride Bluegrass countdown clock, will know that we're approaching 50 days or 1,200 hours until the 43rd Annual gathering of Festivarian Nation in Telluride. But for those of you who mark your road to Telluride via larger milestones, we've reached a big one: the NightGrass ticket lottery is open now (!) thru Wednesday, April 27!
In case that sentence inspired an overwhelming amount of FESTIVAAAAAL excitement, here's all you need to know: check out the schedule of shows, submit your entry during the 48-hour online lottery, and spread the word to your Festivarian family. (And reward yourself with a preview of The Hillbenders' Tommy at the Sheridan.)
Though the magical Summer Solstice days are best spent on a tarp alongside your 10,000 closest friends, when the temperatures drop on the shortest nights of the year Festivarians find their way indoors to NightGrass. Over the years these late-night shows have become legendary: epic shows in Telluride and Mountain Village's intimate venues; from Yonder's 15th Annual Kick-Off to Punch Brothers' Sunday night finale; from the big shows at the Palm Theatre to the return of the cozy Swede-Finn Hall.

Tickets for *all* the 2016 NightGrass shows will again be sold via an online lottery, open from Tuesday thru Wednesday, April 26-27. Any tickets that are not sold via this 48-hour lottery will be made available beginning Thursday, May 5 at shop.bluegrass.com. In case you're contemplating waiting out the lottery, be aware that last year all the NightGrass tickets sold-out via the online lottery.
If you're still looking for your Telluride Bluegrass tickets, have a look at the "Returned Ticket Resale" section of shop.bluegrass.com. We recently made some Thursday, Friday and Sunday single-day tickets available. And we'll continue to release any additional tickets on Tuesdays sometime between 10am and 2pm.
If you're hoping to sleep under the Telluride full moon this June, camping is still available at the family-friendly Telluride High School, on the west end of the valley floor at Lawson Hill, and by the river at Mary E. Ilium. Or check out some lodging options in Telluride and Mountain Village.
Last #FolksFriday we announced the addition of The Lone Bellow to the 26th Annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival lineup. If you're like us, you probably still have goosebumps from the last time the passionate folk-pop band sang on Planet Bluegrass. They join a Folks Festival lineup that already includes: The Decemberists, Dougie MacLean, Lucinda Williams, Passenger, Darlingside, and many more. Watch our Facebook page for more major lineup additions in the coming weeks.
Single-day tickets, 3-day passes, and camping are available now at shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422. Once you have your tickets, connect with your fellow Folks Festivarians by RSVP'ing on the Facebook Event page.
If you're among the lucky few who will be joining us for The Song School, check out the initial faculty listing for our week of songwriting craft and inspiration along the St. Vrain River this August -- including masterful Folks Festival performers Kathy Mattea, Darrell Scott, Cheryl Wheeler, and dozens more.
Thanks to everyone who joined us last Friday for a sold-out evening with The Stray Birds and Lindsay Lou in the Wildflower Pavilion. Only a handful of tickets remain for the final show in our spring Wildflower Concert Series, as sister quartet SHEL celebrate the release of their latest CD this Friday night in Lyons (April 29). Order your tickets now at shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422. And get the latest news about about our year-round indoor Wildflower Concerts by signing-up for our Wildflower email list.
We'll be sharing the next big milestone on the road to Telluride in a few weeks: details of the Wednesday afternoon FirstGrass Concert in Mountain Village. In the meantime, all of us at Planet Bluegrass wish you a belated happy Earth Day -- may April showers bring you May flowers!
