"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more... It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." – Melody Beattie
It hardly seems possible, but once again, the holiday season is upon us. It's the time of year for giving, for family and friends, and for spiked eggnog... yee-haw! But most importantly, it's a time for gratitude.
Festivarians, we are grateful for you! Thanks to each and every one of you for your passion for sustainability, your insatiable appetite for good music, and for understanding how to throw a darn good party that's fun for the whole family. It's all of YOU who make our community so special.
Here's something else to be thankful for: it's almost time to get your tickets for the 2016 summer season! The online lottery for the RockyGrass On-Site Campground is now open! We'll continue accepting entries until 11:59pm MST on Sunday, November 29. Spread the word to your RockyGrass family.
The lotteries for the Telluride Town Park and Warner Field campgrounds as well as the RockyGrass Academy are freshly closed, as of November 11. Folks who were lucky enough to snag a coveted spot have received notification; check your email inbox to see if that includes you. Please note that all classes in the RockyGrass Academy are completely sold-out.
The most exciting news of all is: weekend and single day passes for all of our 2016 festivals will be on sale soon! Since this will be the last Notes from the Planet before these on-sale dates, be sure to mark your calendars now. When the time comes, you can order your tickets securely online at shop.bluegrass.com or by calling our office — 800-624-2422 toll-free or 303-823-0848 if you're in Colorado.

To celebrate the season, we've crafted a special Planet Bluegrass ornament to hang on your tree (or your mandolin neck). A limited number of these custom engraved cherry wood holiday ornaments are available right now at shop.bluegrass.com. And if you don't already have a copy of our gorgeous collector's edition book Telluride Bluegrass Festival: Forty Years of Festivation sitting on your coffee table, we've lowered the price for the holidays to help you spread Telluride cheer to your Festivarian family throughout the year.
Before we go, we'd love to give you an update on our solar panels! As many of you may remember, we installed a 13.2 kWh photovoltaic system right around Thanksgiving last year, with the help of Sunsense Solar and donations from Keen Footwear. In just twelve months, this system has produced more than 16,200 kWh of electricity from sunlight. That's enough to power 1.5 American homes for one year, or to drive a 20mpg car over 9,600 miles. It's also enough energy to entirely cover the electricity consumption for both our 2015 Lyons festivals — RockyGrass and the Folks Festival!
