In these final few weeks before Telluride Bluegrass, we've been thinking a lot about the meaning of our iconic Yinjo-Yangdolin: moments where contrasting opposites create balance and harmony at the festival -- from the music, to the environment, to the community, to the spirit of Festivation.
Yesterday we reached out to Festivarians to share their poetic meanings of the Yinjo. The response has been inspiring. We'll be printing these Festivarian responses throughout the Telluride Bluegrass program, and we'd love to include you! Just post your poetic Yinjo meaning to the Festivarian Forum or Facebook.
Start thinking about it as we share lots of news about the 42nd Telluride Bluegrass -- now just 19 days away...
We're thrilled to announce that the award-winning new film Revival: The Sam Bush Story will be making its Colorado premiere at Telluride's Nugget Theatre during the Festival. These 2 matinee screenings will be held on Wednesday (before the FirstGrass concert) and Friday. Watch for more details in the coming days.
To guide us through our 4 days of acoustic adventure, we've invited Chris Daniels to be this year's main stage emcee. As a member of Magic Music (who debuted at the 2nd Annual TBF), Chris Daniels & The Kings (9 years on the TBF lineup), and founder of the After-Hours Jam at the Sheridan (today's NightGrass), Chris's ties to Telluride Bluegrass run deep. Learn more about Chris on p. 54-55 of our book, Telluride Bluegrass: Forty Years of Festivation. You do have a copy, right?
To assist in your musical preparation, we've put together a free stream of songs from this year's Telluride Troubadours. These talented Troubadours will be performing around Telluride during the festival, including sets at Elks Park and Tweeners on the main stage.
Check out the listing of the 12 bands who will be traveling from around the country to compete in the prestigious 2015 Telluride Band Contest. Cheer on your next favorite bands at Elks Park on Friday, and on the main stage on Saturday morning.
With less than 3 weeks to go, it's time to start planning your Telluride carpool. Share the gorgeous drive to Telluride with new friends and help us reduce the immense carbon footprint created by travel to the box canyon. To connect with fellow Festivarian travelers, check out our "Hitch a Ride" board at www.festivarian.com/carpool.
Help us spread the word about Sustainable Festivation by share one of our "Sustainable Festivation Tips" posts on Facebook, and you'll be entered into the drawing for a reusable Klean Kanteen bottle to add to your Festivarian Toolkit. Watch for our next post early next week.

Watch for the announcement of the Elks Park workshop schedule in our next email, as well as a preview of the 2015 Telluride artwork (painted by Willy Matthews). And the advance single, "24 Frames", from Jason Isbell's upcoming album Something More Than Free remains on repeat here in the Planet Bluegrass office, as well as NPR.
