Punch Brothers & Friends at the Sheridan (photo: Benko Photographics)Since its inception 22 years ago, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival has been about songs. Not limited by genre barriers, we've always been drawn to true artists - songwriters who evolve and blossom and follow their own unique path through the world's musical geography. This year we cap the single-day lineup with two deeply admired artists...

Neko Case, whose powerfully soaring voice has led her from alt-country torchbearer, to member of an indie-pop supergroup, to a critically-acclaimed roots songwriter and performer; and Iron & Wine, who has evolved over the past 10 years from an intimate solo songwriter to larger band creations that layer textures and poly-rhythms with pop, African, country, and folk sounds.

This latest round of lineup additions runs deep... Fly Me to the Moon Saloon (photo: Benko Photographics)Justin Townes Earle (son of Steve Earle) brings songs from his latest album, a skillful blend of raw Memphis-soul and vulnerable country-folk. One of our favorite Canadian songstresses Kathleen Edwards makes her 2nd appearance in Lyons with a critically-acclaimed new record.

Palm Theatre (photo: Benko Photographics)As well, we're hugely excited about two Planet Bluegrass debuts. The stunning 4-part family harmonies (2 brothers, 2 cousins) of English folk-rock quintet The Dunwells share the Sunday afternoon with the acoustic duo The Milk Carton Kids who marry sweet harmonies with edge-of-your-seat old-timey guitar leads.

Fly Me to the Moon Saloon (photo: Benko Photographics)We still have 2 more early-day Sunday slots to announce in the coming weeks, as well as the full schedule in the Wildflower Pavilion and the 10 finalists in the Songwriter Showcase contest (entries accepted thru XXX).

With this announcement of the single-day lineup, single-day tickets are now onsale for each day. We're nearing the end of our allotment of 3-day passes, so don't hesitate if you're thinking about immersing yourself in the full weekend of inspiration with us in Lyons. Or consider camping - spaces are still left in the onsite campground as well as nearby Meadow Park. Order yours now at shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422.

Elephant Revival's Colorado trance-folk makes its much anticipated Telluride Bluegrass debut. Dan Mangan shows why he earned 2 Juno Awards last weekend. Punky foot-stompin' trio The Devil Makes Three create dancin' yellin' mayhem. From jamgrass to singer-songwriters, legends to fresh sounds, these late night sets span the breadth of Telluride Bluegrass.

Once again this year we'll be using an online lottery to sell tickets for the two most intimate venues – Sheridan and Fly Me to the Moon. The lottery for these 7 shows will be open for 48 hours: Tuesday, April 10 thru Wednesday, April 11.

All other NightGrass tickets go onsale the following Tuesday, April 17, online-only at shop.bluegrass.com. As a reminder: NightGrass tickets are completely separate from festival passes; and NightGrass tickets are non-refundable.

Palm Theatre (photo: Benko Photographics)If your Telluride late-nights include singing a few tunes of your own, we'd love to hear you. Less than a week remains to submit up to 2 original songs for the Telluride Troubadour songwriting contest. Entries are due Friday, April 13.

If you purchased festival tickets but haven't decided on your camping/lodging, we highly recommend you finalize those plans right away. Camping passes remain for just 2 campgrounds – Lawson Hill and Mary E / Ilium. Or confirm your cozy indoor lodging with one of our festival partners in Telluride or Mountain Village.

If you're thinking about camping for the 2 day celebration, a passes are still left for the coveted on-site campground (only a few remain) as well as Meadow Park.

While we're still finalizing the other artists on the lineup each day, we can confirm that Yonder will play 2 epic sets each night. Watch for an announcement about the rest of their "friends" in the coming weeks.

-- Telluride Bluegrass --
Ellis teaching at The Song School (photo: Benko Photographics)At last year's Telluride Bluegrass we debuted a new venue for the late-night NightGrass shows: the state-of-the-art Palm Theatre (located inside Telluride High School).

We'll be presenting 3 shows at this gorgeous space again this year: Laura Marling w/ special guest Joy Kills Sorrow (Thurs); Peter Rowan & the Travelin' McCourys w/ special guests Seryn (Fri); and a Saturday night throwdown with Drew Emmitt, Vince Herman & Friends. Tickets for all 3 of these shows are still available at shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422.

If you're still looking for Telluride Bluegrass tickets, watch the "returned ticket resale" section of shop.bluegrass.com every Tuesday from 10am-2pm MDT. As we near the May 4 refund deadline, we may begin to have some Telluride tickets to resell.

If you're still waiting to sort out your camping/lodging, we do still have a small number of camping passes left in 2 of our campgrounds. As well, several of our lodging partners still have some limited availabilities in Telluride and Mountain Village.

Finally,

Best,
