[ View this email as a web page: http://www.bluegrass.com/emails/2010/PBEmail-2010-08-11.html ] =================================================================== Only Friday tickets remain for this weekend's 20th Annual Folks Festival... With all the inspiration, creativity, and emotion emanating from the Song School here on the Ranch right now, we should find a more artful way to say it. But we just need to share that simple, but urgent message: three-day passes and Saturday/Sunday single-day tickets are completely sold-out. If you're hoping to join us for this weekend's Folks Festival, you should purchase Friday tickets right now at http://shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422. --------------------------- *** 20th FOLKS FESTIVAL *** --------------------------- This opening day of our "summit on the song" includes so many of our favorite musical storytellers - Ani DiFranco, David Wilcox, Tift Merritt, Darrell Scott, Jonatha Brooke, Liz Longley, the Songwriter Showcase, and many others in the Wildflower Pavilion, campgrounds, and strumming under shady trees along the river and throughout the Ranch. These are the voices that have shaped the "Folks" sound for twenty years, and the songwriters that will continue to shape the sound of the next 20. The weather forecast is calling for mid-80's and sunny - perfect for an occasional dip in the St. Vrain and some quality tarp time with your festivarian family. David Wilcox plays to the gorgeous Lyons red rock sunset on Friday night; Ani DiFranco closes the opening evening of music with the dramatic Perseid Meteor Shower overhead. If you've never experienced the magic of the Folks Festival - bring along a tarp, a picnic (no glass, no outside alcohol), your reusable water bottle (free filtered water onsite), and your entire family (kids 12 and under are free). New Belgium beer, wine, and mead is available inside the festival as well as a diverse lineup of local food vendors - from dumplings to fish tacos, Greek salads to savory crepes. And be sure to bring a couple extra bucks for our craft vendors - some of the area's finest painters, jewelers, hammocks, henna tattoos, a wide variety of men's and women's clothing, and those iconic Folks Festival fairy wings. Order your Friday tickets ($50) while you still can at http://shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422. As always, we charge no handling fees on any tickets. Friday tickets may still be available in-person at the box office on Friday – keep an eye on http://www.bluegrass.com for the latest ticket availability. When you get to Lyons, please respect our neighbors by not parking on the residential streets. Follow the signs to our convenient festival parking – just $2 per day or $5 for the entire weekend (a significant portion of those proceeds goes to Lyons Parks & Rec). Twenty years in the making, we can't wait to share this historic celebration with you this weekend. The songs, stories, and summertime you'll never forget. We'll see you in Lyons in just 2 days...
