We close the 2011 Planet Bluegrass season this Friday night (Oct 7) with a jubilant evening of Celtic music featuring one of the greatest bands in all of Irish music: Solas.
Combining energetic jigs and reels with stirringly sung folk songs, the Irish-American quintet has become one of the most popular, influential, exciting, and critically-acclaimed bands of the past 15 years (including mesmerizing sets at both Telluride Bluegrass and the Folks Festival).
The New York Times praised their unbridled vitality; the Philadelphia Inquirer said they make mind-blowing Irish folk music, maybe the world's best; the Washington Post dubbed them one of the world's finest Celtic-folk ensembles; and the Austin American-Statesman called them the standard by which contemporary Celtic groups are judged.
Tickets are still available for this epic final 2011 evening of music on Planet Bluegrass - shop.bluegrass.com or 303-823-0848. Trust us: you don't want to miss the powerful sound of fiddles, banjos, flutes, guitars, accordions, and Irish voices filling the Wildflower on this celebratory Autumn night.
Spend the full evening in our wonderful little town of Lyons. Enjoy one of our great restaurants (sushi, tapas, Mexican, brewpub, BBQ, pizza, and more). Play a few games of classic pinball. Then walk over to Planet Bluegrass to grab drinks at the Wildflower bar (New Belgium Beer, wine, and hot drinks). The Pavilion doors open at 7pm and Solas takes the stage at 8. We can't wait to share a final Autumn night of music with you. We'll see you on Friday in the Wildflower Pavilion. |
