This Friday night 7-time International Bluegrass Music Association "bass player of the year" (and longtime member of the Claire Lynch Band) Missy Raines brings her hot quartet, Missy Raines & the New Hip, to the Wildflower Pavilion in Lyons.
With musical influences ranging from Sam Bush to David Grisman to Miles Davis, the New Hip bridges the musical worlds of newgrass, jazz, and singer-songwriter with a song-driven sensibility and Missy's heavy bass grooves. (watch videos)
Juno award-winning global banjo adventurer Jayme Stone opens the show at 8pm with his Colorado quintet of Yann Falquet, Sandra Wong, Greg Garrison & Chris Lee. His performance is part of the CD release tour for his Juno-nominated Room of Wonders – music inspired by folk dances from around the world (watch videos).
