[ View this email as a web page: http://www.bluegrass.com/emails-wf/2010/WF-2010-04-13.html ] =================================================================== We're pushing the chairs to the side this Friday night to make room for the acoustic energy of Head for the Hills and the outlaw bluegrass of Town Mountain. Sure, we'll have seating available in the back and sides, but this Friday's show is frenetic good-time boogie'n bluegrass for dancing and jumping and lots of smiling. Head for the Hills has been energizing national audiences since winning the Northwest String Summit band contest in 2007. Since then they've wow'd festival audiences across the country; been invited to share stages with David Grisman, Sam Bush, and Railroad Earth; and sold-out concert venues around Colorado. Drew Emmitt and Billy Nershi were so impressed with Head for the Hills' live shows they got involved with the band's latest album (Drew as producer, Billy as "creative guru" and studio host, both as guest musicians). Says Drew: "Cutting edge, listeners will fully enjoy this unique sound." We kick-off the evening at 8pm with 2005 RockyGrass band contest winners Town Mountain. The quintet from Asheville, North Carolina occupies a common ground between traditional bluegrass, outlaw country, and pure old-time mountain music - balancing a no-nonsense blend of slammin' bluegrass with just enough slower country crooning, just enough outlaw swagger to give it a honkytonk edge, and just enough contemporary, alt-whatever elements to make it equally appealing to non-bluegrass fans. Advance tickets are just $12 - available at shop.bluegrass.com, 303-823-0848, or The Stone Cup in Lyons. Plan to arrive early for the bonfire and beer & wine at the bar. Town Mountain takes the stage at 8pm; Head for the Hills goes on at 9:15. --------------------------- From progressive bluegrass to outlaw country... ** Head for the Hills ** ** and Town Mountain ** Friday, April 16, 8:00pm $12 advance / $15 door --------------------------- A sweet & soulful marriage of harmonies... ** Anne & Pete Sibley ** ** with very special guests ** Friday, May 14, 8:00pm $15 advance / $17 door --------------------------- Spend the entire evening in our little town of Lyons.
